The Ghana Education Service (GES) congratulates teachers and learners on the successful end of the 2025/2026 first term, confirms payment of CPD and Data Allowances, and provides key updates on the ongoing teacher promotion exams scheduled for December 29 and 30.The Ghana Education Service (GES) has congratulated basic school teachers and learners nationwide following the successful completion of the first term of the 2025/2026 academic year, commending their resilience, dedication, and commitment to teaching and learning.In a message released by GES Communications, the Service described the term as one marked by hard work, perseverance, and shared responsibility among teachers, learners, parents, and education stakeholders across the country.
GES Commends Teachers for Commitment and Sacrifice
GES paid special tribute to teachers at the basic school level, acknowledging their sacrifices and commitment to duty, which continue to play a critical role in shaping Ghana’s human capital and national development.The Service noted that teachers’ dedication remains the backbone of the education system and expressed appreciation for their consistent efforts despite operational challenges.CPD and Data Allowances Paid Ahead of Schedule
GES also expressed gratitude to the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) for the prompt payment of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and Data Allowances to teachers.According to the Service, the allowances were paid ahead of the 18 December deadline earlier communicated, easing financial pressure on teachers and reinforcing confidence in payroll management within the education sector.Teacher Promotion Exercise: Key Updates
The Ghana Education Service provided comprehensive updates on the ongoing 2025 teacher promotion exercise, confirming that critical processes are on course.- Index numbers have been sent to all shortlisted applicants via SMS.
- A master list of shortlisted teachers has also been forwarded to District and Regional Education Directorates nationwide.
- Teachers who have not received text messages are advised to contact their respective District or Regional offices for verification.
Promotion Exam Dates and Categories
GES confirmed the promotion aptitude test schedule as follows:- Principal Superintendent (PS) and Assistant Director II (AD II) candidates will write on 29 December 2025.
- Assistant Director I (AD I) and Deputy Director (DD) candidates will write on 30 December 2025.
