Committee Submits Final Report
According to the statement, a committee made up of representatives from the Ghana Education Service, the Public Services Commission, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has submitted its final report to GES Management.
The Service noted that the promotion framework was developed following extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including significant input from teacher unions.
Call for Applications and Aptitude Test Expected
GES disclosed that the first call for applications, together with the aptitude test for promotion to Director II and Director I, is expected to be announced by the end of the first quarter of 2026.

Promotion No Longer Tied to Office Vacancies
In a major policy shift, GES announced that promotion to the Director II and Director I ranks will no longer be contingent on the availability of limited office vacancies, as was previously the case.
Management explained that this development aligns with the commitment made by President John Dramani Mahama to teachers, aimed at improving career progression and morale within the Ghana Education Service.
Official Communication Only
GES cautioned teachers and the general public to rely solely on official communication from the Service and to disregard unverified information circulating on social media platforms.
The update marks a significant step toward resolving long-standing concerns about stagnation at senior ranks within the Ghana Education Service and is expected to impact a large number of eligible teachers across the country.
