The Ghana Education Service (GES) has cautioned the public about fake recruitment adverts and fraudulent appointment letters circulating on social media, claiming to be offering employment opportunities in the Service. In a statement dated June 28, 2025, and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the GES stated that although the Minister of Education has announced in Parliament plans to recruit 50,000 teachers and 10,000 non-teaching staff, the official recruitment process has not started.
“This is fact and true. Management wishes to inform the general public that this recruitment process is yet to commence,” the statement read.Mr Fenyi noted that when the official exercise begins, it will be made public through recognised GES channels such as the Service’s website, national newspapers, and trusted media outlets.

The statement also stressed that all GES recruitments are free. It said no individuals or groups have been authorised to charge any fees for recruitment, processing, or the issuance of appointment letters. The GES described the appointment letters being circulated on social media as fake and said they should not be trusted. It urged prospective applicants to disregard such messages, warning that they are designed to exploit unsuspecting individuals.“These are attempts to take advantage of the vulnerable and unsuspecting public,” Mr Fenyi stated. He encouraged the public to report anyone involved in these fraudulent activities to the nearest police station for swift action.
Mr Fenyi added that the GES operates with openness and fairness and called on applicants and the public to rely only on official announcements from the Service.
