 The BECE 2024 results have been updated with Creative Art and Design scores. Students can now log in, recheck, and print their updated results. Stay informed with the latest updates on the Basic Education Certificate Examination.


The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced an important update for candidates who sat for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Creative Art and Design results have now been uploaded to the official results website, allowing candidates to access the most recent updates on their performance.

Students are advised to log in to the WAEC portal and recheck their BECE results to ensure that all subjects, including Creative Art and Design, are reflected accurately. If any discrepancies are found, candidates should contact their respective schools or the WAEC office for assistance. It is also recommended that students print the updated results sheet for future reference.

This development comes as part of WAEC’s ongoing commitment to ensuring transparency and accuracy in the release of examination results. By updating the results with the latest information, WAEC aims to give candidates a complete view of their academic achievements.

The BECE is a critical examination for Junior High School students in Ghana, serving as the primary qualification for entry into Senior High Schools. As such, it is essential for candidates to confirm that all their subject scores, including Creative Art and Design, are correctly recorded.

How to check 2024 BECE school and private results

  1. Visit the BECE result checking portal

  2. Enter your Index number

  3. Re-enter the Index number to confirm if it’s correct

  4. Select Exam type (Eg. BECE School or BECE Private)

  5. Choose the Exam year (2024)

  6. Enter your Serial number (Eg. 180000000001)

  7. Enter PIN (Eg A1B2C3D4E5F9)

  8. Tick the Captcha and

  9. Click on the submit button and wait for a new window to display your 2024 BECE result.

A total of 569,236 candidates, comprising 282,703 males and 286,533 females from nineteen thousand, five hundred and five (19,505) participating Junior High Schools (JHSs) entered for the school examination.

This includes fifty-nine (59) candidates with visual impairment, two hundred and sixty-three (263) with hearing impairment and one hundred and sixty-one (161) candidates with other test accommodation needs.

The examination was conducted at Two thousand, one hundred and twenty-three (2,123) centres across the country. Out of the total number, three thousand, eight hundred and forty-five (3,845) candidates were absent

The BECE for Private Candidates recorded a total entry figure of one thousand, three hundred and ninety (1,390) candidates. This was made up of seven hundred and fifty (750) males and six hundred and forty (640) females.

Fifteen (15) centres, mostly in the regional capitals, were used for the BECE for Private Candidates. Out of the total number of candidates who entered for the examination, fifty-seven (57) were absent.
