The Ministry of Education has announced the release of the 2024 Senior High School (SHS) placement results for students who completed the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Out of 563,339 registered candidates, 553,155 qualified for placement. Impressively, 447,698 candidates, or 80.93% of this group, were automatically placed into one of their preferred schools.

However, 104,918 qualified students did not receive placement in any of their selected choices. To ensure these students can still secure a school, the Ministry has enabled the Self-Placement platform, which allows them to select schools with available slots.

How to Check Your 2024 SHS Placement

For students and parents looking to check placement results, the Ministry has provided a straightforward online process:

  1. Visit the official CSSPS website: https://www.cssps.gov.gh or https://www.cssps.org.
  2. Enter the student’s ten-digit index number, followed by “24” for the year of completion (e.g., 123456789024).
  3. Complete the Captcha verification.
  4. Click “Proceed” to view the placement results.

Self-Placement Platform Details

For students without an automatic placement, the Self-Placement platform will guide them in selecting from schools that still have open slots. Here’s how to proceed:

  • Select a school based on location and available programs.
  • Choose between day and boarding options based on availability.
  • Submit the final choice. Students can change schools on the Self-Placement platform multiple times until they confirm enrollment.

Additional Support Available

To address any challenges students and parents may face with the placement process, the Ministry has set up multiple support resources:

  • National Solution Centre: Located at GNAT Hall, Adabraka, Accra.
  • Regional Solution Centres: Available in all 16 regions to provide localized support.
  • Helpline: Call 0308258001 for assistance with any placement-related questions.

The Ministry’s goal is to provide every qualified candidate with a seamless placement experience, ensuring all students have access to education in line with Ghana’s commitment to academic development.
