The 2024 National Standardized Test (NST) for Basic 4 and Basic 6 learners in Ghana begins today, July 23, with Mathematics and English tests administered by the Ministry of Education and NaCCA.


2024 National Standardized Test (NST) Begins Today

The 2024 National Standardized Test (NST) officially starts today, July 23, 2024. This two-day testing event, organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), is set to assess the academic performance of Basic 4 and Basic 6 learners across Ghana.

Day One: Basic 4 Learners

Today’s testing schedule for Basic 4 learners includes:

  • Mathematics: Begins at 10:00 AM and lasts for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • English Language: Starts after a 30-minute break and also lasts for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
NaCCA has indicated that the duration for each test could be extended by an additional 15 minutes if necessary.

Day Two: Basic 6 Learners

The second day, July 24, 2024, follows the same procedure for Basic 6 learners, with the Mathematics and English Language tests administered at the same times and durations as for Basic 4 learners.

Ensuring Smooth Administration

The Ministry of Education and NaCCA have made thorough preparations to ensure the smooth administration of the NST. This includes training regional and district-level educators to manage the testing process effectively and handle test materials appropriately.
