Management of the Education Education Service (GES) and the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) have included Basic two (2) students in the 2022 National Standardised Test.

According to GES and NaCCA, the 2022 National Standardised Test for Basic two (2) students will be conducted between 1st November to 30th November 2022 and between 12th December to 16th December 2022 for Basic four (4) students respectively.

For smooth and effective conduct of the test, each school is expected to provide data on Basic two (2) and Basic four (4), learners/students, to the Headquartered GES under the monitoring and supervision of District and Regional Directorates of GES.

The information picked by Coverghana.com.gh confirmed that the Online Registration of Basic 2 and Basic 4 pupils for the 2022 National Standardised Test ends on 27th September 2022.

GES and NaCCA have also proposed the formation of a Technical Committee to plan this year’s test which will include Basic 2 leaders/students as well, along with the Basic 4 students/learners.

NaCCA and GES under the Ministry of Education have set these goals to meet Ghana’s recent Education Strategic Plan, 2018-2030 seeks to:

1. improve equitable access to and participation in inclusive quality education at all levels.

2. improve quality of teaching and learning and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at all levels.

3. promote sustainable and efficient management, financing and accountability of education service delivery.

Among the offshoots of the Plan is the introduction of the National Standardized Test (NST) which is to measure the learning outcomes of the educational reform at the basic level.

According to plans, data collected from the National Standardized Test (NST) would inform policy review and formulation with respect to classroom teaching and learning.

The test will find out the extent to which learners have covered the content of the teaching curricula approved by the Ministry of Education in Ghana.

The following subjects shall be available to testees taking the National Standardized Test (NST) for Primary 4 and 2 pupils.

1. English Language
