The 2020 presidential awardees have paid a courtesy call on the Director General today at the GES headquarters.
In a brief remarks, Prof Opoku- Amankwa congratulated the awardees for their excellent demonstration of academic brilliance that has brought them thus far.
He urged them to continue to be disciplined as they pursue academic laurels to the highest level
“Make sure you are not distracted by acts that are counter productive to your academic goals in life” He added.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Education, Mr. Benjamin Kofi Gyasi, Chief Director, admonished the awardees to remain focus and be studious in order to sustain the confidence reposed on them by the government and the people of Ghana.
On their part, the awardees expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Education and GES for the award which will motivate them to achieve more academic laurels in future
The 2020 Annual Presidential Awards will be held on Monday 2 March, at the International Conference Center,(AICC) Accra.

In all, 36 students will be awarded by the President. These students have been selected from the 16 regions plus four other (4 ) Special Students. The awardees are students who excelled in the 2019 BECE and currently, first year students in other various Senior High Schools in the country.
