Teacher Unions in the Pre-Tertiary Schools have given their consent to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to supply laptops to teachers at a 70% – 30% cost-sharing between government and the teachers.
A letter dated February 1, 2021 from three teacher unions in response to a previous letter received from he GES on January 29, 2021 informing the unions of its implementation of an earlier decision being arrived at by both parties concerning the subject matter.

The three major Pre-tertiary Teacher Unions, Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers -Ghana (CCT-GH) indicated, that they acknowledged receipt of the said letter of which they were initiating their response.
According to the unions, they are happy with the digitization process under which schools are being provided with Wifi facilities, and the collective efforts of the Ministry of Education (MoE) , the Ghana Education Service, and they, the Unions including GNAT, NAGRAT and CCT-GH to secure laptops for all teaching staff of the service.

The Unions further indicated, they were happy with the conditionalities attached to the supply of the laptops.
