WAEC Releases 2024 WASSCE Results for School Candidates

 

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of provisional results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.

Heads of schools will receive login details to access their candidates’ results. Individual candidates can view their results online at the official WAEC website, www.waecgh.org.

 

 

 Access to Results

  • Candidates can verify their results using WAEC’s results verification system or the WAEC QR code.
  • Stakeholders are cautioned against fraudsters claiming to upgrade results for a fee.

 

Performance Statistics

 

  • Total Candidates: 460,611 (212,954 males; 247,657 females).
  • Increase: A 2.66% rise compared to 448,674 in 2023.
  • Absent Candidates: 4,609 (1.0%).

Performance in the core subjects reflects mixed outcomes, with detailed subject data available to schools and candidates.

Examination Irregularities

WAEC has taken action against malpractice following investigations:

  • 4,108 candidates had subject results canceled for bringing foreign material into examination halls.
  • 483 candidates had their entire results canceled for using mobile phones.
  • 781 subject results and 209 entire results were withheld for various offenses.

Results from 319 schools are under investigation for suspected collusion. The outcome of these investigations will determine whether the results are released or canceled.
