The Valey View University (VVU) Basic School in Accra has indicated it shall phase out the teaching and Learning of GA as a Ghanaian Language due to the lack of teaching staff to take the subject.
The VVU Basic School in a letter dated February 3, 2021, to all parents of the Learners in the school indicated, that the management of the Basic School is gradually phasing out GA as a Ghanaian Language starting from the 2021 Academic year.

The management of the school said their decision was due to their difficulty in getting qualified teachers to teach the subject.
Category of Learners to be affected
According to the letter, the unfortunate decision will affect pupils from Basic 1 to Basic 3 only.
These classes according to the management of the school shall offer only TWI as a Ghanaian Language in the School.

Basic 4 Upwards
The management, however, indicated the school shall continue to offer the TWI/GA option for Basic 4 up to Basic 9 learners.
