The Very Rev. Joseph Nkyi Asamoah is the 13th substantive Principal of the Offinso College of Education in Offinso in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He assumed office as a College Principal on 1st November 2018.
Until his current role as Principal of the College, he was the Dean of Students’ Affairs at the Wesley College of education. He obtained his G.C.E. ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level certificates in Nov.1990 and June 1997 respectively as a private candidate.
In the area of professional qualification, Very Rev. Joseph Nkyi Asamoah has distinguished himself by going through a wide number of training such as 4- year Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ from the then Akrokerri Teacher Training College, 3- Year Diploma in Music Education, and Post Diploma B.Ed in Music in 2000 and 2001 respectively from the University of Education, Winneba.
In March 2008 and September 2016, he obtained Master of Education in Music and Master of Education in Administration respectively from the University of Cape Coast. By dint of hard work and focus, he further obtained Master of Philosophy in Administration in Higher Education in 2013 from the University of Cape Coast and now a PhD (Educational leadership) student at the University of Cape Coast.
He always stands tall among his peers wherever he finds himself. He therefore became the first Tutor in Ghana to be promoted to the rank of Principal Tutor in the College of Education, Ghana in January 2018 after the migration of the Colleges into Tertiary Institutions in October 2016.
Being a focused, disciplined dedicated teacher in the Ghana Education Service (GES), he also passed through the ranks of Assistant Superintendent of Education in 1994, Superintendent of Education in 1998, Senior Superintendent of Education in 2001, Principal Superintendent of Education, also in 2001, Assistant Director II of Education in 2007, Assistant Director I of Education in 2011 and Deputy Director of Education in 2015.
Very Reverend Nkyi Asamoah has held several positions, which has fully prepared him as an astute leader to understand the dynamics of human behavior. A few of such positions are;
National President of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) from 2013 to 2018,
A Member, of the Technical Committee that Developed the Guidelines for the Re Designation/Placement and Migration of Staff of Colleges of Education supervised by the then NCTE now GTEC from 2013 to 2017.
Member of the Joint Welfare Scheme for Staff of Institutes of Education, U.C.C & Staff of Colleges of Education from 2011 to 2018
Member of the National Technical Advisory Committee for Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-TEL- Republic of Ghana and UKAid Project) from 2015 to 2018
National Secretary of Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) from 2007 to 2013.

He is currently the President of the Principals of the UCC Affiliated Colleges of Education in Ghana (PRINCOF UCC Affiliated),
Secretary of the Ashanti/Brong Ahafo (ASHBA) Principals Conference,
Member of the University of Cape Coast Professional Board,
Member of the UCC Affiliated Colleges of Education Board and a
Member of the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of
Education (PRINCOF).
He has attended a number of international and national conferences/workshops, notably among them is;
Leadership Development Seminar for Principals of Colleges of Education, Ghana at the Hague university of applied science, Den Haag, Netherlands. (2019)
The multifaceted Reverend Minister and Academic, Very Rev. Joseph Nkyi Asamoah enjoys reading and research and that has earned him more than nine publications of international standard to his credit.
He is a transformational and motivational leader who has a deep interest in both infrastructural, academic, and staff development of any Institution that is entrusted into his care. He is able to accommodate all manner of persons due to his high level of dynamism in human interpersonal relationships.
The Very Reverend Joseph Nkyi Asamoah is an Ordained Minister of the Methodist Church, Ghana and currently he is In-Charge of the Freeman Methodist Church, Mbrom, Kumasi.
He is blessed with a beautiful and God-fearing wife (Michelle) with four children.
