Teacher Unions not disturbed about Contradictions over ownership of TM1 Laptop Initiative – CCT

EducationGhana, October 26, TM1 Laptop: The National Deputy Secretary of the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana (CCT-GH) Patrick Nii Sackey has said that the Teacher Unions are not disturbed about Contradictions over ownership of TM1 Laptop Initiative.

Patrick Sackey made this revelation in a panel discussion with Ellis Ferdinand on Summer 106.9 FM in Accra on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

 

According to him, the unions shall not be disturbed because though the unions took their request to the government of which the government indicated it was part of its plans, the unions were okay as far as the laptop shall be given to teachers.

Why the Laptop

Speaking on the need to distribute the laptops to teachers, Sackey indicated it was in line with the resources needed to be able to easily implement the New Curriculums being introduced at the pre-tertiary level.

He added, that the new curriculum has introduced computing as a stand-alone subject which needed the needed competencies and resources for its implementation.

He called on teachers to support the initiative for a successful implementation of the new curriculums being introduced at the pre-tertiary education level.
