Qualifications for the Position
To be eligible for appointment as Principal of a Public College of Education in Ghana, a candidate must meet the following qualifications and selection criteria:
1. Academic and Professional Qualifications
Must hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or an equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field.
Must be a distinguished scholar and master teacher with a recognised track record in teaching and academic leadership.
Must hold an academic rank not below Associate Professor in a College of Education, a university, or a comparable institution.
2. Experience
At leastten (10) years of progressive experience in teaching and/or research in tertiary education.
At least five (5) years in a senior management or leadership role, such as Dean, Vice Principal, or Director, demonstrating the ability to manage people, processes, and institutions.
3. Leadership and Administrative Competence
Proven ability to provide strategic and transformational leadership in a higher education institution.
Experience in managing academic, administrative, and financial resources effectively.
Must be capable of leading research and innovation efforts to enhance institutional development.
Strong capacity for building partnerships, attracting grants, and engaging with national and international stakeholders.

6. Age and Tenure Requirements
Applicants must be below 55 years at the time of application.
The appointment tenure is four (4) years, renewable for another term based on performance and institutional needs.
