  The Outstanding Teacher Summit 2025 (OuTS25) gathered educators, policymakers, and innovators at GIMPA, Accra, to promote teacher leadership, mental health, and global opportunities.

OuTS25: A Hub for Teacher Empowerment in Ghana

The Outstanding Teacher Summit 2025 (OuTS25), founded by Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher 2022, Stella Gyimaah Larbi, successfully hosted its third edition at the GB Hall, GIMPA, Accra.Organised by Out International in partnership with Inspire to Rise, the Ghana Education Service (GES), the National Teaching Council (NTC), and GIMPA, the summit brought together educational leaders, innovators, teachers, and industry players for a day of learning, sharing, and inspiration. 

Inspiring Speakers and Thought Leaders

The summit hosted a diverse lineup of speakers and panelists, including:
  • Prof. Enock Opoku Antwi, Dean of Business Administration, Academic City University
  • Dr. Ernestina Korleki Tetteh, Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Social Policy Studies, University of Ghana
  • Fuseina Fuseini, Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher 2024
  • Ms. Perpetual Bosomprah, Best SHS Teacher, 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize
  • Mr. Divine Kpe, Education Specialist
  • Baroness Mrs. Mavis Leonards, CEO, Genescis Business Consultant / Entrepreneur
  • Mr. Godwin Adu Afful, Lecturer, Coach, Memory Trainer, and Entrepreneur
  • Madam Sarah Oye Owiredu, Greater Accra Regional Chairperson, National Association of Teachers
  • Ms. Rosetta Lagbo, Teacher / Jolly Phonics Expert
  • Mr. Ellis Ferdinand, Education Blogger, Curriculum Specialist, and Researcher

Also in attendance were municipal and regional Directors of Education, underscoring the summit’s national significance. 

Key Themes Driving OuTS25

The event explored transformative issues shaping the teaching profession:
  • Innovative Teaching Methods: Creative classroom strategies to boost engagement and outcomes.
  • Leadership Development: Building effective leadership and teamwork skills for education settings.
  • Teacher Mental Health: Addressing stress and well-being as critical to teaching effectiveness.
  • Global Opportunities: Preparing teachers for international scholarships and exchange programs.
  • Teachers and Social Media: Leveraging digital platforms for professional growth.
The summit also honored the Outstanding Heroes in Education 2025, recognising exceptional contributions to the field of education. 

Challenges and the Road Ahead

Despite its success, the summit faced financial constraints, with crowdfunding efforts falling short. This limited event activities and added logistical pressure.Organisers are considering a return to a multi-day format, similar to earlier editions, to allow more in-depth discussions. Plans for greater inclusivity are also underway, ensuring participation from educators with physical, visual, and hearing impairments.

OuTS25: More Than a Conference

The Outstanding Teacher Summit is not only about professional development but also a space for teachers to unwind, reflect, and advance personally outside the classroom environment.With its growing influence, OuTS is positioning itself as a leading platform for teacher empowerment, innovation, and policy dialogue in Ghana and across Africa.
