EducationGhana, July 22, NAPO: The Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO)Â has donated desks to schools in his constituency for the implementation of the New Standard-based Curriculum.
The Manhyia South Member of Parliament on July 9, 2021, presented furniture to selected Basic Schools and one Senior High School in his constituency.
The donation included 52 Hexagonal Tables for KG, 300 Chairs for KG, 510 Mono Desks for JHS, 300 Dual Desks for Primary Schools, and 400 Foreign Desks For Serwaa Nyarko Girls SHS.
According to the former education minister, this presentation came on the back of requests from the schools through the Metro Directory of GES.
”I urged the heads of the various schools to ensure the proper care of the items to promote effective teaching and learning.” he indicated.
NAPO used the opportunity to encourage all schools in his constituency not to relent on their efforts but continue to be the best in the region and strive to be the best nationwide.

Dignitaries present at the short ceremony included Mr David Oppong- Metro Director – GES, Mr Martin Addis Fordjour- Head of Supervision GES, Kumasi, Mr Asante Twum Albert, Mr Peter Gyemfi- Head of Supply and Logistics, Nana Yeboah Asiamah- PRO, GES, Kumasi Metro All heads of basic schools in the constituency.
All Assembly Members from the 6 Electoral Areas in my constituency, officials from the Manhyia Sub Metro, Pupils and students as well as Party Executives were also present.
