NACCA IS A DISAPPOINTMENT TO GHANA’S EDUCATION; THEY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE FALL IN STANDARDS.
The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment has failed woefully in its core mandate and mission to raise the quality of education at the Pre- tertiary level in Ghana.
The general aim of standards-based learning is to ensure that students acquire knowledge and skills that are deemed essential to success in education, careers and adult life, but the current abysmal performance of the Council has contributed to a fall in standards especially in our primary schools.

Pupils in primary schools have not been taken through any form of assessment about three years of implementing the Standards-Based Curriculum which is supposed to ensure learner’s continuous growth. This is rather motivating their retardation.
It is therefore important to note that all schools administering exams to their learners are following a misleading path since they are assessing learners with the objective-based methods in the midst of a Standardized based system.
The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment must apt their responsibility.
The Council must ensure and provide item banks that will guide teachers in providing test items in preparation towards the National Standardized Test(NSAT) for B2, B4 and B6.
The call for textbooks in primary schools must not fall on death ears.
NACCA must not derelict its duty to the detriment of the Ghanaian pupil.
