Winner of the maiden edition of Miss SHS will get a saloon car, 3,000 cedis, laptop and possibly a scholarship.
That is according to Production Manager for Miss SHS Ghana, Evergreen Everestus.
Speaking at the event launch at the Golden Bean Hotel, Kumasi, he said, the pageant for final-year students will give opportunity to winners to continue their education abroad.
“We are sending you abroad to continue your education, you’re paying nothing,” he stressed. The first and second runner up will also get to spend a holiday in Dubai.

The winner and first runner-up will be given tasks which includes going to schools and churches to sensitize peers on relevant national issues.
Public Relations Officer for de 90’s Queen Production, organizers of the event, Sandra Osei Amponsah says the pageant seeks to promote girl child education and groom youths to be responsible.
“Miss SHS is a confident, intelligent and innovative lady who has integrity. It is our aim to instill good morals in the girl child….We set to groom up these ladies who will grow up to develop the country with their skills and knowledge,” she said
The maiden edition will begin with three regions; Greater Accra, Ashanti and Eastern region.
Auditions will start from 26th October in Kumasi, 16th November in Accra and 21st December in Takoradi, culminating in the main programme in May 2020.
“We do not want to interrupt the studies of these young girls,” she explained.
Five months after the audition, 16 girls will be selected and sent to a reality house in Accra, which will be shown on various television stations.
Organizers say a psychologist will be on standby to monitor the contestants. Self-confidence, eloquence, creativity and moral uprightness are some of the qualities organizers seek.
“We are not looking for an extraordinary figure or somebody who can cat-walk. Skin colour, ethnicity, all doesn’t matter, “stressed the organisers.
