The Minister of Education and the Registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC) have inspected the ongoing construction of the NTC Tamale Office Complex, reaffirming government support for teacher professionalism and decentralised service delivery.Government Reviews Progress on Key Education Infrastructure Project
The Minister of Education, together with the Registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC), paid a working visit to the construction site of the Council’s new Office Complex in Tamale on Friday, 14 November 2025. The inspection forms part of a national effort to strengthen infrastructure for education-related agencies and enhance their capacity to support teacher development.During the visit, project consultants and contractors briefed the delegation on the pace of work and led a detailed tour of the entire facility. The team assessed structural progress, architectural compliance, and adherence to safety and project timelines.Minister Commends Steady Progress
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the work completed so far. He reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting the NTC in its role of promoting teacher professionalism, licensing, and regulatory oversight.In a brief interaction with the project team, he highlighted the strategic importance of the Tamale office. According to him, the facility will serve as a central operational point for the northern sector, improving service delivery across the five northern regions.NTC Registrar Highlights Decentralisation Goals
The Registrar of the National Teaching Council praised the contractors for maintaining consistent progress. He emphasised that the new complex aligns with the Council’s decentralisation agenda, aimed at improving access to teacher licensing, continuous professional development (CPD), and regulatory services nationwide. He further noted that the Tamale office will ease congestion at the national headquarters and improve the Council’s engagement with teachers, teacher unions, and educational directorates in northern Ghana.Contractors Outline Remaining Phases
Contractors assured the Minister and Registrar of their commitment to timely completion. They outlined the next stages of the project, which include interior finishing, electrical installations, plumbing systems, and landscaping.
