The Management of the National Service Scheme has said that all newly trained teachers currently embarking on their National Service for the 2018/19 Service year must remain at Post until December 31,2019.
In a statement issued by the Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Dr. Mustapha Yusif on Thursday, September 5,2019 , the NSS said 2018 newly trained teachers must remain at Post until the Ghana Education Service releases their appointment letters.
Terminal Leave
However, tie newly trained teachers shall be given a terminal leave in November 2019.
The newly trained teachers are thereby reminded to continue their National Service until the GES gives them permanent appointments.
GES sets Guidelines for Recruitment
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has set requirement guidelines to recruit qualified newly trained teachers for the 2019/2020 academic year.
Per the guidelines, candidates who wish to be considered for employment as teachers under the GES should have completed and passed the final-year College of Education Examination.
Additionally, the candidates must have completed the mandatory national service and passed the Teacher Licensure Examination.
