JUST IN: Teachers Continuous Professional Development allowance will be paid in October, 2020 – GNAT

CURRICULUM PROFESSIONAL COURSES

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT)  has confirmed that the Teachers Continuous Professional Development allowance will be paid in October, 2020.

This was said at the National Council Meeting of GNAT organised from the 29th September to 3rd October, 2020 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology( KNUST).

The GNAT said Ghc1,200.00 shall be paid to professional teachers for their professional development whilst
Non-professional teachers shall receive Ghc800.00.

Condition of Service

According to the Association, the Newly introduced Teachers Condition of Service has been completed and duly signed by all parties.

The Union said it shall be printed and distributed to all staff of the Ghana Education Service who are members of the Ghana National Association of Teachers.

Loans

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has said that it is considering reducing the interest rate on loans offered by the Teachers Fund of the Association.

Speaking at the National Council Meeting of GNAT  organised from the 29th September to 3rd October, 2020 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology( KNUST) , the Teachers Fund Board Chairman said the Fund has about 215,003 members and valued at over GHc1.5bn as at December, 2019.

According to him, the board of trustees shall be meeting to consider reduction in the interest rate on Teachers Fund loans.
