The Ghana Education Service (GES) has ordered all Public Basic Schools to contact printers in their localities to print their examination papers for them on credit while waiting for the BASED GRANT to settle such payments.
The Ghana Education Service said the supposed Based Grant shall be GHC 5.00per head and is expected to be released VERY SOON for the settlement of such debts.
The GES made this revelation in a meeting between the National Executives of Conference of Heads of Basic Schools (COHBS) ,Conference of Directors of Education (CODE) and the Dep. Dir. General in charge of Management Services: Lawyer Anthony Boateng .

The meeting was witnessed by the Deputy Director General M&S, Director in Charge of Basic Education, Financial Controller GES HQ, Chief Accountant GES HQ, Director of Administration GES HQ, all National officers of CODE and a member of The National Council of COHBS among others.
The meeting was held at the GES Headquarters on the 2nd of July, 2019.
The Ghana Eduication Service indicated it will soon come out with lasting modalities of financing end of term exams.
The meeting resolved that Heads of Public Basic Schools should contact printers in their localities to print their papers for them on credit while waiting for the Based Grant of (GHC 5.00per head to be released very soon to be used to settle the debts.

Furthermore, it has been resolved that out of the GHC 5. 00 per head, Heads should use the following amounts to sponsor the exams:
KG1 to Prim 3= GHC 3.00 per head
P4 to P6 = GHC 4.00 per head
JHS= GHC 5.00 per head.
Monitoring of Exams
With regards to the monitoring of the Examinations, the meeting concluded that all Metropolitan,Municipal and District Directors of Education should monitor the conduct of the exams and report to the Headquarters.
Meanwhile,the Metropolitan,Municipal and District Directors of Education are not to Conduct the examinations.

Conduct of Exams
The meeting also decided that teachers should be task to set the questions and mark n the papers.
It however threatened that headteachers should desist from buying exam papers from outside the schools.
”Headteachers found guilty of such acts shall be duly punished” The meeting indicated.
”Meanwhile, No head should expect official correspondence from the GES Headquarters before complying to the directives” The meeting indicated.
