JUST IN: JHS to run Semester Program for the 2020/21 Academic Year

BECE CANDIDATES

Junior High Schools (JHS) in the country Shall run a Semester Program for the 2020/21 Academic year.

The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES)  Prof. Kwesi Amankwa made this revelation to the media at a press conference today, January 4, 2020.

According to the Director-General, the semester program will help students and teachers to cover for the entire periods lost during the covid-19 school closure.

Structure of the Semester Program

The First Semester shall begin on January 18 to June 11, 2021 with a vacation from 12th June to 5th July 2021 for form 1-3 students.

The Second Semester Shall begin from the 6th of July to 2021 to 7th December 2021 with a vacation from the 8th December 2021 to January 2022 for Form 1 and Two Students only.

For the Form 3 students, the Second Semester shall begin from 6th July 2021 until they write their BECE in November 2021.

Mid Term Breaks

There shall be a midterm break within both semesters.

For the First Semester, there Shall be a midterm break from March 15 to 19, 2021.

For the Second Semester, there Shall be a midterm break from September 6-10,2021.
