Ashesi University, a private tertiary institution in Ghana has indicated that its students are not being supervised or invigilated when writing their examinations.
According to the Ashesi Honour Code, exams on campus have no invigilators or supervisors.
Students pledge to hold themselves to account during exams; to not cheat or tolerate those who do.
The Honour Code encourages students to take responsibility for their own ethical posture, and learn to do the right thing even when no one is watching; to be as intentional about developing their character, as they are about developing their skills.
Ashesi is recognised as one of the finest universities in Africa, with an educational experience proven to successfully prepare students for rewarding lives and careers.
Nearly 100% of Ashesi’s graduates receive job offers, start businesses or enter graduate school within six months of graduation.
With an academic program designed in collaboration with some of the world’s best universities and organisations, Ashesi has created an educational model unlike any other in Africa.
In 2017, Ashesi was awarded the World Innovation Summit in Education Prize, one of the world’s biggest prizes in education.
In 2018, Ashesi was also awarded a Charter by the President of Ghana, granting the University full independence as a nationally recognized degree-granting institution.
Ashesi was the youngest private university to have been granted a Presidential Charter in Ghana’s history.
In 2012, Ashesi University was ranked among the top ten most respected organizations in Ghana (a first for an education institution) in a survey of 300 CEOs conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Business and Financial Times. See more awards and recognition here >>
