Ayawaso West MP donates vehicles to University of Ghana for Security Patrols

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Mad. Lydia Seyram Alhassan has donated two motorbikes and a saloon car to the University of Ghana.

The vehicles are to help with security patrols on the campus of the University.

Her donation comes on the back of a suspected armed robbery attack carried against a final year student of the University.

The student, Daniel Osei, was attacked on Sunday night on the Pentagon/Evandy stretch of the University and suffered machete wounds on his head.

The incident, which gained national attention, forced University management to outline some immediate steps to ensure the safety of members of the University community on campus.

At a brief ceremony organized at the New Council Chamber of the University, Madam Alhassan stated that the security of members of the university community was her concern as well as the Institution was in her constituency.

She further charged University management to ensure that the vehicles were used for the purpose for which she donated them.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, who received the donation on behalf of the University, said that the items came in timely and thanked the Ayawaso West Wuogon MP for her kind gesture.
