The Council of Ho Technical University has approved the promotion of five senior lecturers to the rank of Associate Professor. The announcement was issued in a notice signed by Dr Christopher K. Amehoe, Registrar and Secretary to Council, following the Council’s 119th Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.According to the Council, each candidate successfully met the requirements for promotion after comprehensive external assessments of their scholarly publications, teaching contributions, and service to the University.Profiles of the Newly Elevated Associate Professors
Prof. Baidenger Agyekum Twumasi
Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Faculty of EngineeringProf. Twumasi holds a Ph.D in Electronic Science and Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology in China. He has contributed to several areas within the University, including student development, and currently serves as the Acting Dean of Student Affairs. His research work spans electronic systems, engineering applications, and digital solutions for higher education.
Prof. Courage Sedem Dzah
Department of Food Science and Technology Faculty of Applied Sciences and TechnologyProf. Dzah earned his Ph.D in Food Science and Engineering from Jiangsu University in China. He previously served as Head of the Food Science and Technology Department and is now heading the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department. His research and innovations in food processing and safety have contributed to both academic development and industry practice.
Prof. Richard Selase Gbadegbe
Department of Industrial Art Faculty of Art and DesignProf. Gbadegbe, a specialist in African Art and Culture, completed his doctoral studies at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He has held key roles including Head of Department and Dean of Faculty. His continued work in the Industrial Art Department strengthens the University’s commitment to preserving Ghanaian and African artistic heritage.
Prof. Deodat Emilson Adenutsi
Department of Accounting and Finance HTU Business SchoolProf. Adenutsi holds a Ph.D in Business Management from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. His leadership roles include serving as Head of Department and Vice-Dean of the Business School. His research interests cover financial management, business performance systems, and institutional growth strategies.
Prof. John Coker Ayimah
Department of Mathematics and Statistics Faculty of Applied Sciences and TechnologyProf. Ayimah obtained his Ph.D in Statistics from the University of Ghana. His academic journey at Ho Technical University spans nearly two decades, during which he has taught, supervised research, and contributed to technological development. He currently heads the Department of Computer Science.
Council Praises Academic Excellence and Research Culture
In the official notice, the Registrar noted that the promotions were granted after stringent assessments, with publications adjudged to meet international standards.
