Ferdinand | EducationGhana | April 17| Girlfriend of Late UEW Student Speaks Out: “He Threatened to Leak My Nudes Before Taking His Life”
The girlfriend of the UEW student who tragically took his life opens up about the events leading to the incident, including threats to leak her private images and emotional struggles in their relationship.
Winneba, Ghana — The girlfriend of Nicholas, a Level 100 University of Education, Winneba (UEW) student who allegedly committed suicide, has broken her silence, offering emotional insights into their troubled relationship and what led to the tragic incident.
In a WhatsApp conversation now circulating online, she revealed that Nicholas had been emotionally unstable in the days leading up to the suicide, even refusing to eat for two days. She reportedly took him to the university hospital, where both received counselling.
According to her, the problems intensified after Nicholas allegedly threatened to circulate her private images following a misunderstanding. The lady admitted that she had shared old nudes with a male friend about two years ago, which Nicholas used to emotionally manipulate her during arguments.
“He sent the pictures to my dad in front of me,” she claimed. “But thankfully, my dad wasn’t online at the time.”
She said she met Nicholas on January 11th, and things progressed quickly between them. However, his behaviour became possessive and toxic.
“He didn’t like me chatting with any guy. He always thought they would take me away from him,” she added.
The girlfriend explained that on the night of the incident, she had asked Nicholas for a breakup after telling him to forgive her if he ever felt hurt. She then went to study for her exams scheduled for April 15th.
“I was asleep when I heard he had taken his life. I wasn’t even in the hall when it happened.”
In response to critics online, one user commented:
“You just completed SHS, go and learn in school. You’re doing boyfriend and girlfriend.”
Her final WhatsApp apology, which many have questioned, she said was due to Nicholas shouting at her, something she says was a regular occurrence in their relationship.
