The 2022 World Skills Africa Competition held in Namibia has ended with the Ghanaian contingents winning two gold medals and silver.
Ghana won Gold in Mechanical Engineering CAD as well as Web Technology by Loius Morgan and Manfukui Yao Agbo respectively.

WorldSkills Swakopmund 2022

 

WorldSkills Swakopmund 2022 is the skills competition of the overall capacity building of WorldSkills Africa 2020-2022.

During the Skills Development in Africa meeting on 25 August 2019, which was held alongside WorldSkills Kazan 2019, WorldSkills Namibia received the majority of votes from WorldSkills Members and Partners to organize the skills competition.

About WorldSkills Namibia

 

Namibia joined the WorldSkills family as an Associate Member in 2011 and upgraded to Full Member status in 2015. The country has been to every WorldSkills Competition since 2011.

 

WorldSkills Namibia had sent Competitors to 3 WorldSkills Competitions, including 4 Competitors to WorldSkills São Paulo 2015, 7 Competitors to WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, and 11 Competitors to WorldSkills Kazan 2019.

 

How to join the WorldSkills Africa programme?

 

The biennial WorldSkills Africa programme is open to all Member States of the African Union. Invitations to join are distributed through the official communication channels of the African Union to the ministries in charge of Vocational Education and Training.

The responsible ministries are welcome to register VET teachers/trainers to join the capacity building workshops and send Competitors to the skills competition.

Organizations that are supported by the responsible ministries to represent their countries are also eligible to register VET teachers/trainers and Competitors.
