The Ghana Education Service (GES) has declared an Easter break from April 17 to April 21, 2025, for Form Two students in transitional track schools. Students are to return on April 22 to resume academic work.

Accra, Ghana – April 11, 2025 – The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced an Easter break for Form Two students in Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools operating under the Transitional Track system. According to an official circular from GES headquarters, the break will begin on Thursday, 17th April and end on Monday, 21st April 2025.

The announcement, signed by Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, emphasizes that the break is optional. Students who choose not to travel home are to remain on campus under appropriate supervision.

“Heads of Schools are to permit students who wish to travel home and celebrate the Easter festivities with their families the opportunity to do so,” the letter stated.

Students who travel are expected to return to school on Tuesday, 22nd April 2025 to ensure the prompt resumption of academic activities.

The letter was addressed to all Regional Directors of Education, with instructions to disseminate the information to all affected school heads.

This move is part of efforts to accommodate students’ well-being and family traditions during Easter while maintaining academic discipline and continuity.
