The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has taken decisive action to safeguard campus safety and order by declaring two former students — Mr. Ransford Fosu-Boateng, also known as “Scammer Baby,” and Mr. Raphael Appiah Owusu — persona non grata.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Registrar, Mr. Fosu-Boateng was dismissed from the university on March 21, 2022, while Mr. Owusu’s dismissal became effective at the end of the 2023/2024 academic year. Despite their removal, both individuals were found to have unlawfully infiltrated residential halls on campus, engaging in harassment, disruptive conduct, and acts of vandalism that severely compromised university security.

Caught on CCTV During Unlawful Assembly
In a recent incident, both former students were captured on university CCTV footage as participants in an unlawful assembly that led to the destruction of KNUST property. Their actions triggered the university’s decision to officially bar them from all university premises.
Strict Measures for Campus Security
KNUST Management emphasized that the two individuals are no longer bonafide students of the university and are prohibited from accessing or loitering within campus grounds. They are to be treated as trespassers if found on university property.
Additionally, current students have been strongly warned against associating with the two former students. Any student found aiding, abetting, or facilitating their access to university facilities will face strict disciplinary sanctions in line with KNUST regulations.
University Commitment to Safety
The statement, signed by Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, Deputy Registrar of the University Relations Office, reaffirmed KNUST’s commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and academically conducive environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
