GES announces 2025 Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District Reposting for education staff. Deadline for assurance is June 2, processing starts July 1.
Teachers seeking reposting urged to meet June 3 deadline for submission
Accra, Ghana – April 23, 2025: The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the commencement of the 2025 Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District Reposting Process for teaching and non-teaching staff. The directive, issued to all Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education, outlines a clear schedule for assurance and reposting procedures.
According to a circular signed by Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah, Director of HRMD on behalf of the Acting Director-General, the process for seeking reposting remains unchanged from previous years.
Key Dates for 2025 GES Reposting Process
- Issuance of Assurance Letters Begins:
Friday, 2nd May 2025 - Assurance Period Ends:
Monday, 2nd June 2025 - Submission Deadline to GES Headquarters:
Tuesday, 3rd June 2025 (Late submissions will not be accepted) - Processing of Reposting Applications Begins:

Critical Guidelines for Staff
All staff seeking reposting must submit their completed applications and required documents through their respective regional offices. These applications should then be compiled and forwarded to the GES Headquarters. It is also important to note that:
- Staff will only be released after the reposting request has been fully approved by the Director-General.
- The reposting letter must be officially issued to the applicant before any relocation can take place.
- GES emphasizes that no reposting is valid without a formal reposting letter from the Director-General.
GES further highlighted that only those who have received assurance are eligible for reposting processing.
Importance of Meeting Deadlines
The GES has cautioned all staff and directors that documents received after the June 3, 2025 deadline will not be accepted under any circumstances. Staff are therefore urged to act promptly to ensure they are captured in this year’s reposting exercise.
This initiative forms part of GES’s broader strategy to ensure that staff distribution aligns with operational needs across Ghana’s educational landscape. It also provides opportunities for staff to relocate due to personal, health, or professional reasons, in line with GES policies.
