Award-winning Ghanaian Education Blogger, Ferdinand Ellis has been adjudged Blogger of the Year at the 2022 National Students Awards.
The award which was in its 8th year was held at the New Headquarters of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) in Accra on the night of Friday, December 23, 2022.
Ferdinand won the same category in 2018 and repeated it in four years after in December 2022.

Ellis Ferdinand is the Founder of Ellis Multimedia a parent company of Education Ghana Media Network ( EducationGhana.org) an Online Education News Blog, and PoliticsGhana.com an online Political and Current Affairs Website.
Ellis Ferdinand is a Graduate of Accra College of Education and the University of Cape Coast respectively, where he obtained a Diploma In Basic Education and a Bachelor of Education in Accounting.
The Genesis of Education Ghana Media Network
Ellis Ferdinand started blogging in 2013 as a celebrity and lifestyle blogger at Ellisferdinand.blogspot.com
He started Education Blogging in 2014 after he abandoned Celebrity and lifestyle blogging with the purpose of projecting the works of teachers and the Education Sector.
Ellis Ferdinand wanted to put a stop to alleged corrupt activities in the Education sector.
With his in-depth knowledge of Ghana’s Education Sector, Ferdinand was able to project the sector to appreciable heights.
Ellis Ferdinand got the general public’s attention in late 2013 when he questioned the government’s decision to introduce a three-month pay policy which to date had its effects on teachers’ salary arrears.
Ellis Ferdinand Suffered political interpretations in his publications since 2014 when he started active education blogging.
His publication on the adverse effects of the three months pay policy introduced by the National Democratic Congress in 2013 through to his prediction of the Posting of Teacher Trainees being halted by the New Patriotic Party among others gave him a lot of pressure from the politicians and their followers.
Awards
Ellis Ferdinand won Blogger of the Year at the 2018 National Students’ Awards and was also adjudged 14th Best Ghanain Blogger in 2018 among the Top 50 Ghanaian Bloggers of 2018.
He introduced the Concept of Education Blogging in Ghana in 2014 with his famous blog EducationGhana.net.
His Blog won Best Media Promoting Education in 2017, 2018, and 2019 respectively, an Award organized by Neogenics Education Consult.
In 2019, He has adjudged the Most Promising West African Blogger of the Year in Nigeria.
Articles
Ellis Ferdinand wrote so many articles relating to Education in Ghana. He is known for his famous Article concerning the upgrading of Colleges of Education into fully-fledged Tertiary Institutions.
He wrote about the benefits of attending College of Education over Universities in the minds of becoming a teacher in Ghana.
He wrote about the Free SHS and its implications and advised the government on possible means of overcoming the challenges.
Researches
Ferdinand is a researcher in Education and a contributor to Education-related discussions on Radio, Television, and on Social Media. He is a Leadership Coach and a Public/Motivational Speaker.
He is currently researching into developing strategies to improve the BECE Performance of JHS Pupils.
Education
Ellis Ferdinand Completed St. Paul’s Senior High School(SPACO) in 2008 as a business student.
In 2010, he got admitted into the Accra College of Education to read a general program in Diploma in Basic Education.
He graduated from the Accra College of Education in 2013 and pursued read Bachelor of Education in Accounting (Psychology and Foundations of Education) at the University of Cape Coast in 2015. and graduated successfully. He gained admission in to the University of Education to read a Master of Philosophy Degree in Curriculum and Pedagogic Studies in 2021.
Leadership
Ellis Ferdinand was elected Assistant School Prefect in St Paul’s Senior High School and President of the Students Representative Council of the Accra College of Education in the 2011/12 Academic year.
Contributions to Education in Ghana
Ellis Ferdinand was a media delegate and a member of the Panel of Judges for the 2018 T-TEL Challenge Fund Project for some Thirty-One Colleges of Education in Ghana.
The Challenge Fund Project was aimed at the professional development of Tutors and Trainees at the various Public Colleges of Education as the Colleges migrate into fully-fledged Universities.
Ferdinand is currently developing a public document on the strategies for improving the performance of candidates in the BECE.
His blog,EducationGhana.net has served as an authentic source of information for students, teachers, and Ghanaian and international readers.
Ellis Ferdinand also created an Online Classroom and an online Television Channel to help promote Education in Ghana.
Ellis Ferdinand and Radio
In October 2020, Ferdinand joined Summer Radio, an East Legon Hills Radio Station to host a Sociopolitical and Current show on Every Saturday.
Ellis Ferdinand and TTAG
Ellis Ferdinand is a former Sector Executive Member of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana, Eastern and Greater Accra Sector (TTAG-EGA) in the 2011/12 Academic year.
With mentoring expertise from some of his greatest mentors in leadership including Maxwell Addae and Kingsley Acheampong(Patron of Education Ghana Media Network), with his colleagues and friends including Marvin Asiedu, Obinna Ikechukwu, Doreen Adofo, Claudia Duedu.Bernard Atieku, Oscar Kofi Agbo among others, and Ferdinand became instrumental figures in Teacher Trainees’ Politics after his tenure as President of the SRC of Accra College of Education to date.
He was honored with citations by the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana for his contributions to teacher trainees’ welfare and teacher education in Ghana.
Social Life
Ellis Ferdinand, as President of the SRC of Accra College of Education, in 2012 was the executive producer of the maiden Inter-Colleges Music Compilation dubbed ”The Revolution Diary” to help promote Talents in Colleges of Education.
He introduced the Beauty Pageant ”FACE OF AcCE” into Accra College of Education with the support of the then Entertainment Committee during the 201/12 Academic Year.
In 2012, he wrote a portion of Nix Daughters’ ”Education is Good” song with the late Nicholas Ametepe, the then C.E.O of Nix Music Productions.
In 2018, Ferdinand composed the Official School Anthem for Bewuanum Anglican Basic School, located in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region, and the Osae Krodua Anglican Basic School in 2022 respectively.
