The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has confirmed a delay in the payment of two categories of allowances that were scheduled for November 2025. A statement issued on 25 November 2025 explained that the allowances could not be processed due to a technical hitch encountered during the final payroll run.The Department noted that the challenge affected many government workers, with a significant portion coming from the education sector.Allowances Paused to Prevent Further Delay in November Salaries
In the statement signed by Cephas N. Dosoo, Head of Public Relations, CAGD indicated that the pause was necessary to prevent a wider delay in the payment of November salaries for all government workers. Regular salaries remain unaffected and will be paid according to the established schedule.The Department assured the public that the technical issue is being addressed.Outstanding Allowances to Be Paid in December
According to the release, the two allowances that were not processed in November will now be paid together with the December 2025 salaries, which are scheduled for disbursement on 18 December 2025.The CAGD expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and extended its appreciation to all affected workers for their patience.Growing Concern Among Teachers and Public Sector Workers
