It is the leading public university in New Jersey, a top 15 public national university, and a top 100 world university. The Department of Environmental Sciences is the oldest environmental sciences department in the nation, with a history dating back over 100 years and offers programs in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering (jointly with the School of Engineering), Meteorology and Atmospheric Science. The department is located on Rutgers’ Cook Campus in New Brunswick NJ and equidistant from both Philadelphia and New York City.

Principal Investigator: Siddhartha Roy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences at Rutgers University. The goal of his research program is to facilitate access to safe and affordable water for all in the 21st century.


Postdoctoral Researcher

We invite applications from candidates with backgrounds in environmental science, civil/environmental engineering, chemical engineering, inorganic chemistry, or related disciplines. The postdoc will focus on laboratory- field-, and stats/epi-based projects on metals release and isotope fingerprinting in potable water infrastructure, impacts of exposures to environmental contaminants on human health, and citizen science investigations and technological/behavioral interventions in domestic, overburdened, and international settings. This is a 12-month position with a starting salary, per union agreement, of $61,805 with the possibility of extension for another year contingent on satisfactory performance. The start date is flexible, with a preference for January 2025 or earlier.
