Allow JHS Students to vacate as per scheduled Academic Calendar – MoE to GES

EducationGhana| December 09| Academic Calendar: The Ministry of Education has directed the Ghana Education Service, GES to allow Junior High Schools, JHS  students to vacate as per their scheduled vacation date.
The GES in a Facebook post on December 09, indicated, that the Ministry of Education has given the urgent directive for the maintenance of the old academic calendar for the JHS students.

Background

The Ghana Education Service has announced December 17, 2021, as the official date for the National Standardized Test for Basic 4 Learners in all public schools.

The GES in a Facebook post on Monday, December 5, 2021, indicated that the National Standardized Test for Basic 4 Learners which takes place on December 17 shall affect the Academic Calendar for Basic Schools.

National Standardised Test for P4 will be written on the 17th of December 2021.
As a result, all Basic schools will vacate on the 17th of December 2021.”

The GES  said it will make up for the lost vacation period in the next academic calendar.
