Administrative Error: Gov’t reinstates National School Feeding Coordinator

EducationGhana, May 21, School Feeding: The Government of Ghana has reinstated the former National Cordinator of the School Feeding Programme, Gertrude Quashigah.

Termination of Appointment

A letter signed by the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection Sarah Adwoa Safo (MP) has detailed the termination of the appointment of National Coordinator for Ghana School Feeding Programme Gertrude Quashigah.

According to the letter addressed to Gertrude Quashigah, the termination of her appointment as National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme takes immediate effect.

“You will be paid one month’s salary in lieu of notice as stipulated in your contract agreement.” The letter said.

Though the letter has not outlined the main reasons for the termination of her appointment, she has further been directed to hand over any official documents or property in her custody to the Chief Director of the Ministry as soon as possible.

Reinstatement

A letter dated May 20, 2021, and signed by the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection Sarah Adwoa Safo (MP) to the former National Coordinator of the School Feeding Program has indicated that the termination of appointment earlier indicated was an administrative error.

The Minister said her earlier letter dated May 18, 2021, which indicated her appointment being terminated has been withdrawn.
