Ghana’s Nursing and Midwifery Council confirms three accredited health training institutions in the Western North Region, strengthening education pathways in the country’s northern belt.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC) of Ghana has officially listed three accredited health training institutions in the Western North Region as of May 2025.
The state-run institutions include:
College of Health Sciences, Sefwi Asafo, offering a diploma in Registered General Nursing (RGN)
Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Sefwi Wiawso, providing both diploma and certificate programmes in RGN and Registered Nurse Assistant Clinical (RNAC)
College of Health Sciences, Bibiani, with diploma programmes in Registered Midwifery (RM) and Registered Public Health Nursing (RPHN)
This announcement marks a crucial step in streamlining healthcare training in Ghana’s northern corridor, ensuring that only qualified institutions continue to operate and train future healthcare professionals.
The N&MC advises prospective students to verify accreditation status before applying to any health training institution.
