I have now understood the reason why some people opt for Training in college before proceeding to university for further studies.

The system doesn’t recognize graduate teachers more than teachers from colleges of education.

But what I know is that it’s the same universities that supervise and award certificates to graduates from colleges of education, so why is it that much premium is placed on graduates from colleges of education than graduates from the universities?

The bribes the majority of graduate teachers pay, and the struggles they pass through when even the graduate recruitment portal is opened are very pathetic. Their counterparts in the colleges of education do not go through such stress.

Many graduates from the three main institutions in Ghana that train graduate teachers have passed through thick and thin to complete their studies with the hope of getting employment into GES--as it is normally done for COLLEGES OF EDUCATION graduates, but after completion, their desire to be recruited into GES has remained a pious hope.

Some graduate teachers have been in the house for 4 to 5years; many of whom have lost their capital through a protocol.

The system is unfair to graduate teachers from the universities.

Candidly, it’s about time universities in Ghana that train graduate teachers link up with MOE and GES, and speak for fair treatment of their graduates as it is done for COLLEGES OF EDUCATION products.
