The Government of Ghana has reintroduced the admission quota to the Forty-six (46) Accredited Public Colleges of Education for the 2022/2023 academic year.

According to the list released by Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), a total of 12,002 prospective teacher trainees are expected to be admitted into the 46 Colleges of Education for the 2022/2023 academic year.

In a letter to the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) confirming the information, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has outlined a list of Colleges of Education with their respective admission quota for the 2022/2023 academic year.

According to the Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission Professor Mohammed Salifu, the allocation for Public Colleges of Education approved cannot be varied and must strictly be adhered to.

 

Drawing the attention of the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) to the permissible admission figures for entry into Level 100 at the Colleges of Education in the 2022/2023 academic year, Prof. Mohammed Salifu of GTEC said, for the avoidance of doubts, payment of Feeding Grants, and Trainees Allowance will be guided by the enrolment figures as directed.

It’s expected that the management of the Colleges of Education and the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education obey the directive to meet the required quota as announced.
