WAEC Announces Release of 2024 NOVDEC Results for Private Candidates
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially announced the release of the 2024 NOVDEC results for private candidates who took the exams from October 24 to December 20, 2024.
According to WAEC’s press release, a total of 38,316 students registered for the examination, which included 17,596 males and 21,131 females. Unfortunately, 1,354 candidates did not show up for the exams.
The provisional results are now accessible on WAEC’s official website (www.waecgh.org), where candidates can check their performance using a valid result checker.
How to Check Your 2024 NOVDEC Results
To access the results, candidates will need a WAEC result checker voucher. Here’s how to purchase and check your results:
1️⃣ Buy a result checker voucher:
Dial 389223# on your mobile phone.
Visit evoucher.mawulepe.com and select NOVDEC to buy a checker.
2️⃣ Check your results online:
Enter your index number and select Examination Year – 2024.
Input the Result Checker Serial Number and PIN from your purchased voucher.
Click Submit to view your results.
2024 NOVDEC Results: Subject Performance Breakdown
WAEC reported that 303 candidates had their subject results canceled, while an additional 108 candidates had their entire results nullified due to examination malpractice.
A performance analysis of core subjects showed varied results:
English Language
✅ Passed (A1 – C6): 13,406 candidates (54.79%)
❌ Failed (D7 – F9): 45.21%

✅ Passed (A1 – C6): 10,196 candidates (37.44%)
❌ Failed (D7 – F9): 62.56% (16,637 candidates)

Integrated Science
✅ Passed (A1 – C6): 13,446 candidates (53.31%)
❌ Failed (D7 – F9): 46.69%
Social Studies
✅ Passed (A1 – C6): 16,571 candidates (87.88%)
❌ Failed (D7 – F9): 12.12% (2,199 candidates)
Concerns Over Mathematics and Science Performance
The latest results reveal a persistent issue with poor performance in Core Mathematics and Integrated Science. More than 16,000 candidates did not pass Mathematics, which is essential for gaining admission to higher education.
Education analysts emphasize the need for increased attention to STEM education and improved teaching methods in Mathematics and Science to enhance student performance in future examinations.
