WAEC refutes claims of releasing the 2024 WASSCE results and urges the public to disregard fake reports. Read on for updates and steps to check results when released.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has dismissed claims that it has released the provisional results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates.
This comes after a fake statement circulating on social media alleged that WAEC had released the results of the 460,611 candidates who sat for the exams. The false report also claimed that approximately 19,808 candidates had their results canceled due to examination malpractice.
In an official response, WAEC labeled the report as untrue and urged the public, especially candidates, to disregard the misinformation. WAEC emphasized its commitment to transparency and assured stakeholders that an official announcement would be made once the results are ready for release.
