UEW graduates 6,769 students in April 2025 during the Second Session of its 29th Congregation, including 503 postgraduates and over 5,900 undergraduates.

 

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is celebrating academic excellence as it graduates a total of 6,769 students during the second session of its 29th Congregation. The ceremony, which commenced on Wednesday, April 23, is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

This cohort of graduates includes 2,769 males and 4,000 females across postgraduate, undergraduate, and diploma levels, marking another milestone in the university’s mission to train highly qualified teachers and professionals. The graduates successfully completed their academic programmes at UEW’s main campus and various study centres.

Out of the total graduating class, 503 students—representing 7.4 percent—completed postgraduate programmes. These include 28 PhD holders, 164 Master of Philosophy (MPhil) graduates, 151 Master of Education (M.Ed.) recipients, and 95 who earned Postgraduate Diplomas in Education (PGDE).

The majority of graduates, 5,958 students (88.0 percent), earned their first degrees. Of these, 220 distinguished themselves with First Class Honours, 1,427 earned Second Class Upper Division, while 2,182 graduated with Second Class Lower Division.

This graduation not only reflects the academic resilience and dedication of UEW students but also highlights the university’s continued commitment to quality education and nation-building.
