The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has officially announced comprehensive re-opening arrangements for fresh and continuing students ahead of the 2025–2026 academic year, providing clear timelines to guide students’ return to campus.
The schedule, released by the university’s management, covers arrival dates, orientation programmes, course registration periods, medical examinations, and commencement of lectures and tutorials for both regular and distance students.
Arrival Dates for Students
According to the official notice, fresh students are expected to report to campus on Saturday, January 3, 2026, while continuing students are scheduled to arrive on Saturday, January 10, 2026. These staggered arrival dates are intended to ensure smooth accommodation, registration, and orientation processes across UEW campuses.
Orientation for Fresh Students
Orientation activities have been scheduled separately for regular and distance students:
- Fresh Students (Regular): Monday, January 5 to Saturday, January 10, 2026
- Fresh Students (Distance): Wednesday, January 7 to Saturday, January 10, 2026
The orientation programme is designed to familiarize new students with academic regulations, campus facilities, student support services, and university culture.
Online Course Registration Timelines
UEW has also outlined detailed timelines for online course registration:
- Continuing Students (Regular and Distance): Monday, November 24, 2025 to Friday, January 9, 2026
- Fresh Students (Regular and Distance): Monday, January 12 to Friday, January 23, 2026
Students are advised to complete their registration within the stipulated periods to avoid academic penalties.
Medical Examination for Fresh Students
Medical examinations for fresh regular students will take place from Thursday, January 15 to Friday, January 23, 2026. Participation in the medical screening is mandatory and forms part of the admission requirements.

Commencement of Lectures and Tutorials
Academic work for the semester will proceed as follows:
- Lectures for Regular Students: Monday, January 12 to Friday, April 3, 2026
- Tutorials for Distance Students: Saturday, January 10 to Sunday, March 29, 2026
