Ferdinand | EducationGhana | March 22| TEIN-UG Embarks on Membership Registration for Freshers at the University of Ghana
TEIN-UG begins membership registration for freshers at the University of Ghana, offering leadership opportunities and involvement in national issues for students.
The Tertiary Education Institutions Network – University of Ghana (TEIN-UG) has officially launched its membership registration for freshers at the University of Ghana. The initiative, designed to foster unity and engagement within the university’s community, seeks to provide an avenue for new students to join one of the most dynamic student organizations on campus.
This step was announced through a statement from the TEIN-UG Communications Bureau, which emphasized the importance of student involvement in national discourse and political engagement. The registration drive, which kicked off on March 20, 2025, is aimed primarily at freshers who have recently joined the University of Ghana and are looking to make meaningful contributions to both the university and the nation at large.
A Platform for Political Engagement and Unity
,
As part of its mandate, TEIN-UG, which operates as the student wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), continues to be a platform for the youth to engage in various socio-political and developmental activities.
Membership in the organization is designed to provide students with a platform to engage in national issues, build leadership skills, and connect with like-minded peers who are passionate about creating positive change.
The organization has historically played a crucial role in empowering students to actively participate in shaping the future of Ghana. This year’s membership registration focuses on new students, helping them integrate into the vibrant TEIN-UG community from the very beginning of their academic journey.
What Freshers Need to Know About the Registration Process
According to the Communications Bureau, the registration process is straightforward, designed to make it easy for fresh students to sign up. The registration forms will be available online through the official TEIN-UG website and at various registration booths around the university campus.
Key benefits of joining TEIN-UG include access to exclusive workshops, seminars, and mentorship programs that aim to develop students’ leadership potential. Additionally, members will have the opportunity to be part of discussions and debates on national issues, participate in community outreach programs, and contribute to initiatives geared towards social and political reforms in Ghana.
Leadership Opportunities and Capacity Building
One of the highlights of joining TEIN-UG is the opportunity to develop leadership skills and enhance personal growth through engagement in the organization’s various initiatives. Throughout the year, members are encouraged to take on active roles, whether through student government elections or by representing TEIN-UG in national political forums.
Additionally, TEIN-UG’s leadership development initiatives provide opportunities for freshers to build their capacity in communication, critical thinking, and team collaboration. As part of this year’s membership drive, the organization plans to introduce a series of leadership training programs aimed at cultivating the next generation of political and social leaders.
A Call for Freshers to Take Action
With the launch of the registration drive, TEIN-UG is calling on all freshers to take immediate action and register as active members.
In a statement, the organization’s president emphasized that joining TEIN-UG is not just about political affiliation but about being part of a larger movement that strives to create positive social change.
“Joining TEIN-UG is about more than just being part of a student group; it’s about becoming part of a national movement that seeks to shape the future of Ghana. Freshers should not miss this opportunity to make a difference, both within the university and in the broader Ghanaian society,” said the president of TEIN-UG.
