Teaching during Vacations Compulsory,Teachers not Part of Vacations – GES

Teachers in the Junior High Schools in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District Education Directorate in the  Upper West Region shall not ‘enjoy’ their vacations.

This is because Vacations were meant for Only the School Children,the District Director of Education has confirmed.

In a letter dated March 14,2019 and signed by the District Director of Education,Simon G. Bagbio ,all Junior High School Teachers were expected to continue teaching the BECE Candidates during the vacation period.

This the directorate indicated ,was part of measures to improve the Academic Performance of candidates in thisyear’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Warning

The director cautioned in the letter ,that teachers within the Junior High School Category who frowned on the directive shall be handled accordingly.

The director emphasized that the holidays were meant for the pupils and not the teachers.
