The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has officially opened applications for its Postgraduate Local Scholarship Scheme for the 2025/26 academic year.The scholarship is open to eligible Ghanaian students pursuing Master’s and PhD programmes in accredited public tertiary institutions across the country.
Application Timeline
According to GETFund, the application portal will open on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, and close on Friday, 20 February 2026.Applicants are encouraged to complete the process early to avoid last-minute technical challenges on the portal.
Application Procedure
All interested applicants are required to visit the official GETFund scholarship portal to begin the application process.Applicants must complete the online form and upload scanned copies of all required documents for vetting and shortlisting.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted after the completion of the vetting process, in line with GETFund’s assessment procedures.
Important Notices to Applicants
GETFund has stressed that all official correspondence will be strictly between the Fund and the scholarship applicants.Applications will be received only through the official scholarship application portal, and no manual submissions will be accepted.
The Fund has also cautioned the public that it has not appointed any individual or agency as an intermediary in the scholarship process.
Warning Against Fraud
Applicants have been advised to report any individual or group claiming to act as a scholarship intermediary to the nearest police station.GETFund reiterated that the scholarship process is free and transparent, and no fees are required at any stage of the application.
Eligibility Limitation for PWD Applicants
GETFund noted that Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in public tertiary institutions are not eligible to apply under this scholarship scheme.However, PWD applicants may seek financial support through the Students Loan Trust Fund, under the government’s PWD support initiative.
