 Ghanaian architect and PhD researcher Sharon Padiki has set a Guinness World Record for the largest leaf-print painting with a 54.33 m² Ghana flag artwork, marking a major milestone in sustainable art and national creativity.

Rising Ghanaian Creative Achieves Global Milestone

Ghana’s art and heritage community is celebrating a landmark achievement as Sharon Padiki, a trained architect and emerging heritage scholar, has been officially recognized by the Guinness World Records for producing the largest leaf-print painting in the world.Padiki created a 54.33 m² Ghana flag artwork on 11 July 2025, securing her place in global history and elevating Ghana’s visibility in contemporary creative innovation.

A Blend of Architecture, Heritage, and Environmental Art

Sharon Padiki completed her architectural training at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She is currently pursuing a PhD in Museum and Heritage Studies at the University of Ghana, where her work explores indigenous knowledge, cultural preservation, and sustainable creative processes.Her record-breaking artwork, produced through the intricate method of leaf printing, uses natural leaves to create textured impressions and bold colour fields. The result is a striking representation of the Ghana flag, merging patriotic symbolism with environmentally aware artistry.
