Pupils of Adansi Primary sit on mat to learn

Pupils of Adansi M/A Primary School in the Asante Akyem South Municipality of the Ashanti region are now forced to sit on mats during lessons due to lack of furniture.

When Adom News visited the school, some of the pupils complained they stand in the class while lessons are ongoing, while others struggle to share the few desks available.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, the pupils appealed to the government as well as non-governmental organisations to come to their aid.

The Parent Teacher Association executive member of Adansi M/A Primary School, Asamoah Adjei Kwaku, expressed worry about the plight of the school and urged the government and non-governmental organisations to come to their aid.

Meanwhile, the Asante Akyem South Municipal Education Director, Evelyn Kerina Benewaa, has expressed hope that the Assembly will soon help the school.

The Asante Akyem South Municipality Chief Executive, Alexander Frimpong, revealed efforts were underway to furnish the school with desks and urged parents and teachers to exercise restraint.
