”Therefore, it is imperative that the government of the day prepares its human capital for work. That is why the proposal to have a National Diploma certificate after SHS is being considered to give those who will like to work right after secondary school the opportunity to do.” He said.
The Minister also indicated, that skills development is one of the best ways of growing an economy.
According to him, most developed countries today have all at some point invested heavily in skilling their workforce to drive their national agendas, eventually turning such countries into power houses, some of them being without natural resource endowment.
”Ghana, bountifully blessed with several natural resources, therefore owes itself the duty to prepare its human capital to be able to harness all the potential from its resources.” He said.
He urged financial arms of government to continue to support the education sector, especially in areas of skills development to ensure that the citizenry is educated and moulded properly for the future world of work.
