Politicians don’t love Ghana more than striking teachers – Kwesi Pratt

Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, says teachers love Ghana, despite the current strike to demand legacy arrears from the government.

To the journalist, politicians are acting as though teachers’ decision to go on a strike is unreasonable.

“The issue of strike is not just about teachers, children and parents are also affected. But when we sit on radio and talk as though they don’t love their country then we are being very unfair to them,” he told Accra-based Peace FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.

“Do the politicians feel they are more knowledgeable than teachers? They don’t love the country more than teachers, go to the villages and see the struggles they go through to teach,” he said.

According to him, teachers are less respected in the country but they train professionals for the country’s development.
